THOUSANDS of fans turned out at Oulton Park over the weekend to see Colin Turkington step up his challenge for the British Touring Car Championship.
Northern Ireland's Turkington won two of Sunday's three races to close to within two points of Matt Neal in the driver standings.
Team RAC racer Turkington claimed victory in the first race on Sunday as round four of the series got underway.
The victory – his second of the season – came after a superb start, going into the first corner in the lead from starting third.
In race two he led from start to finish.
By the final race of the day Turkington was carrying maximum ballast on a reverse grid.
He suffered damage and was outside the points.
James Thompson secured victory in his Team Dynamics Honda.
