Gymnastics: Saltney Gym stars shine at Welsh Championships

SUPER Saltney Gym Club members had a glorious time at the recent Welsh Championships as they returned with success in every category.

Among the medals were golds for Barry Young, Matt Scott, Toby Band, Madeline Duffield, Alex Scott, Georgia Place, Anna Wearden, Jasmine Lloyd, Charlotte Evans and Natasha Howarth.

There were also bronze medals for Olivia Madrell, Kate Laurence, Hope Scott and Ahana Banerjee.

All gold medallists automatically qualify for the British Championships where they will represent Wales at the Stoke-on-Trent competition on May 9-10.

Deputy head coach Debbie Lavender said: “It’s the club’s best achievement since we were founded about 12 years ago.

“We are obviously so proud and chuffed and now can’t wait for the British Championships.”
