BLACON Youth returned from their trip to Vauxhall Zafira with a superb 3-0 success in the Chester Junior League’s under 10s section.
Liam Edge gave Blacon a first-half lead but Vauxhall then shut up shop until the visitors took control in the second period. MoM Lewis Coppack and Tom Rose wrapped things up.
In the U9s, Upton Panthers and Malpas Reds finished even at 2-2.
The visiting Reds made a glorious start as they stormed into a 2-0 lead throughWill Morris and Theo Coulter. But Upton worked their way back into the game to take a share. Malpas MoM was Ed Weston.
Also in the U9s, Malpas Blacks eased to a 3-0 home win against Westminster Park. After clearing a snow-covered pitch, Malpas made a strong start, hitting the post before Fin Kelly netted the first.
The hosts maintained their early pressure but didn’t add their second goal until the last quarter when Kelly added his second. Oscar Welsh wrapped up the scores with Harry Parkinson named MoM.
Blacon Youth (Blacks) went down 3-0 at home to Waverton. Scores were level at the end of the first period, before a second-half collapse.
