Motorsport: Vintage sports cars roll into Oulton

CLASSIC Formula One cars from the 1950s will be revving into action at Oulton Park’s Vintage Sports Car Festival tomorrow.

More than 250 cars from the vintage, pre- and post-war eras will be at the Mid Cheshire circuit to celebrate 50 years since Mike Hawthorn became Britain’s first F1 world champion.

Front-engined F1 and F2 cars from before 1961 will race for the Hawthorn Memorial Trophy, while pre-1952 single-seaters will contest the Hawthorn Spanish Trophy.
