Jamie Noon has answered England's latest injury SOS and will start against Italy in the RBS 6 Nations opener at Twickenham on Saturday after Mike Tindall was ruled out with a back injury.
Noon was left out of the original matchday 22 but returned to the squad on Thursday after Tindall damaged his back during a weights session.
England confirmed on Friday night that Tindall had failed to recover in time and that Noon would go straight into the starting XV, with Mathew Tait retained on the bench.
Noon's inclusion is the second change England manager Martin Johnson has had to make to the side he named to face Italy on Tuesday lunchtime.
Scrum-half Harry Ellis was called up from the Saxons to replace Danny Care, who slipped on the ice at England's training base and damaged ankle ligaments.
