Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan became the highest wicket-taker in one-day internationals on Thursday after claiming his 503rd scalp in the fourth ODI against India in Colombo.
Muralitharan equalled Wasim Akram's previous best of 502 victims in the third one-dayer on Tuesday when he snared Yuvraj Singh.
And he moved clear of the former Pakistan fast bowler when centurion Gautam Gambhir edged a ball to wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara.
