Goals from Jose Bosingwa - his first for the club - and substitute Nicolas Anelka gave Chelsea a 2-0 win over Stoke.
Former Porto full-back Bosingwa made the breakthrough against Stoke in the 36th minute with a cool finish from Lampard's pass.
Anelka then made the points secure with 14 minutes to go when he took advantage of a mistake by Abdoulaye Faye.
