Blood Red: Liverpool museum would be perfect home for Tommy Smith’s medals and memorabilia

ALL the spoils from Anfield Iron Tommy Smith’s illustrious career will go under the hammer in Chester on Wednesday.

It’s a remarkable collection with Bonhams auctioneers expecting the 75 lots to fetch in the region of £120,000.

Smith won four league titles, two FA Cups, two UEFA Cups and the European Cup during 18 years of unstinting service to Liverpool.

The medals and the shirts from some of the greatest nights in the Reds’ history are up for grabs.

Some of the prices are out of reach for most supporters but only small change for a Premier League club.

Liverpool have an excellent museum at Anfield. Hope-fully this time next week they will be making room for some exciting new exhibits.
