Tommy Smith On LFC: Two good reasons for Reds fans to celebrate this Christmas.....

l With Christmas falling on a Saturday, this will be my last column before the festive break.

So let me take the opportunity now to wish all readers and Liverpool fans (and all Everton fans too of course) a very Happy Christmas. Like all Liverpool fans, I’d love nothing more for Christmas than to see us back at the top end of the table challenging Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

But at least we can go into the break and 2011 knowing we have at least got rid of the two men who’ve been at the root of all our troubles.

Tom Hicks and George Gillett have been driven from our great football club. And despite all else still to be put right, that’s a real cause for celebration.
