lThe mood may have lifted but there’s no disguising the concerns over a dreadful defeat to Blackpool six days ago.
Whether they are players he has inherited or ones Roy Hodgson has brought in, there are men in red shirts now who don’t deserve to be wearing it.
And we’ll have been in the bottom three for a fortnight by the time the next game comes around - a derby match at Goodison to boot.
If new owners mean we do get a chance to improve the squad then we have got to bring in wide players, because we’re so narrow and lacking pace. A back-up centre forward is another must too, as is a replacement for Javier Mascherano.
I just wish we could clone my old mate Ian Callaghan.
