Liverpool FC News: FERNANDO TORRES’S agent is adamant he has not told the English media that the player will leave for another Premier League club.
José Antonio Martín, one of Torres’s representatives, has denied giving an interview suggesting that while the player will reject advances from Barcelona, he could not guarantee that he would stay with Liverpool if he remained in England.
Torres stated earlier this week that he would delay talks on his future with new manager Roy Hodgson until after the World Cup.
And Martin has backed this up by saying: “Now is not the moment to speak about this issue because Torres is focused completely on his work for Spain.
“After the World Cup Bahía Internacional (the company which represents Torres) will possibly meet with the player but the truth is that Fernando has signed a deal with Liverpool which is for the present and the future.
“For many months I have not spoken to the England Press because their quotes are totally false.”
Martín was earlier quoted as saying: “It is very likely that Fernando Torres will stay in the Premier League, but I cannot say that it will be with Liverpool. We are working on his future but right now you cannot guarantee that he will stay with the English club.”
Meanwhile, reputed Liverpool target Ashley Young is unlikely to leave Aston Villa, according to reports emerging in the West Midlands.
New Anfield manager Roy Hodgson made a pledge to try and buy English players this summer with 25-year-old Young strongly linked with a move to Merseyside.
Daniel Ayala is poised to seal a season-long loan to Spanish second division outfit Real Valladolid.
The 19-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Sevilla in 2007, will make the switch with a view to a permanent deal after making just two starts for the first team last season.
Ayala said: “I am waiting to see what my future is because I don’t know what will happen now Benitez has left. I would be excited to play in Spain.”
