Manchester United FC: United were right to sell Cristiano Ronaldo, Brian McClair

Manchester United FC: BRIAN McCLAIR has backed Manchester United’s decision to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Red Devils youth director has been around Old Trafford for long enough to know there is unlikely to be a catastrophic fall from grace as a result of Ronaldo’s £80m exit.
“Selling Ronaldo to Real Madrid is good business,” said McClair. “Look back at the club’s history.
“George Best, Eric Cantona and David Beckham departed United and the club continued to thrive – in certain cases, gone on to bigger and better things.”
