Dawson set to slot in to Tottenham defence again for Everton FC clash

MICHAEL DAWSON insists he has no problem slotting straight back into the Tottenham team on a regular basis after it emerged that Ledley King is facing yet another spell on the sidelines with a suspected hamstring tear.

Dawson returned from a four-month Achilles injury lay-off on Saturday to captain Tottenham to a 3-0 victory over Cheltenham in the FA Cup.

Dawson now faces the prospect of playing his second game in five days after King injured his hamstring in training on Friday.

King is expected to be out for several weeks, meaning Dawson will be at the heart of the defence again tomorrow against Everton along with either Younes Kaboul or wantaway centre-back Sebastien Bassong, as William Gallas is out with a calf tear.

“It’s not the first time this has happened,” Dawson said.

“Injuries are hard and when you come back you need to come back and perform at the best of your ability and I always back myself to do that.”
