Everton Academy devastated by Gary Ablett’s death

GARY ABLETT’S death has been felt throughout Everton – with the academy staff still devastated by the news, according to Kevin Sheedy.

Sheedy, who knew Ablett well, said: “It was a sad day for football when we heard the news Gary had passed away.

“He was a real gentleman and an excellent coach with a lot of knowledge and experience about the game.

“It’s so sad that someone so young has been taken away. I got on with Gary well and we’re all very sad for his family. Everyone at the academy would like to extend their condolences to his wife and lovely children.”
