KEVIN SHEEDY wants his young side to make a big impression on this season’s FA Youth Cup.
The U18s have been handed a tricky first tie with an away journey to London, where they will take on Crystal Palace on December 13.
But Sheedy is keen for his side to show their quality, and pick up valuable experience en route.
He said: “Our ultimate aim always has to be getting players to progress up the system into the reserves, and then hopefully David Moyes’ first team.
“However last season we played so well that we won the league, and we’re always conscious of results and trying to promote a competitive approach.
“The Youth Cup is obviously something we want to do well in, and represents a big opportunity for our lads.
“We want to go as far as we can, but we can’t take anything for granted and we’ll have our work cut out for us going to London and getting past Palace.”
