GUILDEN Sutton cricketer Lauren Griffiths enjoyed success Down Under as England Woman secured a thrilling four-wicket victory in the first Twenty20 match at the Adelaide Oval.
The Cheshire wicket-keeper was largely untroubled behind the stumps and not called upon to bat as England hit 144-6, to Australia’s 140 – in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Kent left-hander Lydia Greenway led from the front, hitting a cool 39no from just 27 balls and enabling the tourists to start the five-match series in perfect fashion.
Former Chester Boughton Hall star Griffiths will line up against Australia again tomorrow morning (3.35am) in the second match in Melbourne.
