Former secretary Bob Cunningham of Frodsham is new president of the Cheshire County Cricket League

BOB Cunningham of Frodsham is president of the Cheshire County League for the next two years.

Its secretary from 1999-2008 when he stepped down due to ill health, the 69-year-old is now looking fit again.

He was elected unanimously at the AGM at Bowdon, succeeding Harry Sharrock.

In his retirement speech, Sharrock said he had enjoyed his term of office. Standing-in as chairman for David Humpage, who was absent due to a family illness, deputy John Bygate praised Sharrock for his work.

All officers were re-elected, namely: chairman Humpage; vice-chairman Bygate; secretary Geoff Wellsteed; treasurer Brent Wilkinson; competition secretary/publicity officer Mike Talbot-Butler; junior section chairman Gary Dixon; junior secretary/ junior fixture secretary David Vallance; fixture secretary Sandy Scrimgeour; 1st XI results secretary Wyn Talbot-Butler; 2nd XI results secretary Ian Sharrock; 3rd XI Sunday results secretaries Ian Sharrock and Peter Lawson; 3rd XI Saturday results secretary Brian Boys and assistant secretary Tony Morris.

Peter Bolger was re-elected to the cricket committee.
