Setting the standard at Christleton

CHRISTLETON High School has been awarded one of the highest honours in grassroots football.

The FA and Cheshire FA has handed the school the county and regional FA Charter Standard secondary school award.

Christleton is one of only five schools in Cheshire to receive a county award, and one of six in the North West to receive the regional award.

Magnus Alford, director of sport at Christleton, said: “We are all delighted that the FA has recognised how hard we work to ensure that the pupils are given opportunities to train and compete at all levels.”

As county and regional winners the school receive a pennant, an engraved plaque and £100 of Umbro vouchers.
