Saints are up for cup

PARK Saints got the Cheshire Minor Cup campaign of to a great start by beating Middlewich Town 8-2 in the first round.

The Chester and District Junior League under 13s side defeated their hosts thanks to a commanding midfield performance.

Stuart Austin, Lewis Jennings, Lewis Donovan and Liam Wild ran the game, presenting Joe Williams with great chances as he hit five goals and Matty Roberts, Danny Williams and Liam Wild the others.

Boughton U13s enjoyed a comprehensive win, 5-1 against Tameside’s Hattersley.

Hattersley took the lead on 15 minutes with a well-created goal but Boughton replied within 30 seconds through Cameron Parker.

The hosts then took control before half-time and strikes from Liam Blake, Jamal Rizvi and Rhys Dowington gave them a 4-1 lead at the interval. Boughton’s Sion Brisbane completed the scoring.
