Euro starlets

MALPAS and District JFC’s annual presentation day saw teams stage a mini Euro 2008 tournament.

In brilliant sunshine at Malpas Sports Club, mixed teams were drawn to represent countries taking part in the European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.

The Czech Republic won Group A (for under 7s and U8s), Croatia triumphed in Group B (U9s and U10s), Holland topped Group C (U11s, U12s and girls) and Russia were the winners of Group D (U13 and U14s).

After the competition was over, presentations were made to all players in the club’s nine age group teams.

There were also awards for most improved player, manager’s player, supporters’ player and players’ player season.

The club would like to thank all volunteers who helped make the day memorable for the youngsters.

Anyone interested in playing for Malpas and District (school foundation year onwards) should contact Andy Earl on 01948 770790.
