Saints warm up for final by sea

PARK Saints under 12s and U13s went on an end-of-season tour to Blackpool to unwind before their Duke Of Westminster Cup finals later this month.

Both teams came third in their respective age groups in the Fleetwood Cup.

Playing at Thornton Cleveleys FC the U12s were just edged out of the final on goal difference by Fleetwood Town, even though the Saints had beaten Town 2-1 earlier in the tournament.

After winning their final game the U13s, Chester and District League champions, were still in with a chance of making the final if results elsewhere went in their favour, but this wasn’t to be their day either.

Both teams later met former Everton and Wales captain and Chester City manager Kevin Ratcliffe who presented the trophies.
