JOEL Sampson bagged three goals as Newton Athletic beat Waverton Wasps 9-1 in the Chester Junior League Under 10s Cup.

Tom Vickers also got a hat-trick, Dominic Doherty netted twice and Ryan Fulton also scored. Mathew Clooney was on target for Waverton.

Upton Panthers beat Christleton New Scene Blues 3-1, while Scott Hamilton struck twice as Boughton won 3-1 against Blacon Youth. Aaron Haddock added the third as Liam Davenport was man of the match.

In the U10s Shield, Waverton Bees edged past Hoole Hornets 1-0. MoM was Hornets’ Daniel Cadman.

Upton Jaguars beat Saughall Colts Blues 3-2 in the U9s Shield, while the U9s Cup saw Chester Nomads Colts fall 4-0 at home to Christleton New Scene.
