THE Jets are through to their first BBL Cup final since 2003.
They overcame a four-point first-leg deficit to book their place at next month’s Birmingham extravaganza with a convincing victory over the Lions at an electric Northgate Arena last night.
Paul Smith’s side will now face the winners of the other two-legged semi-final, Sheffield Sharks or Leicester Riders, at the NIA on Sunday, January 17.
Jets head coach Paul Smith said: “These were two really tough games and I am so proud of the way that my team have come through it.
“This is finally some sort of payback for the supporters and volunteers who have stood by the club when it looked like we were going to fold a couple of years ago.”
Captain James Hamilton (22), Shawn Myers (17) and Paul Peterson (15) scored the lion’s share of the points for the Jets, who won all four quarters to run out 167-159 aggregate winners.
