Jets 88 MK Lions 92

BIG Storage Cheshire Jets’ losing streak continued yesterday at the Northgate Arena as the MK Lions cemented their place in the play-off zone.

Scoring their second win of the weekend, and reviving their BBL Championship season with a late rally to win by just four points, the Lions continued their dominance over the Jets.

Trey Moore led the Jets’ scoring with 23 points.

The Lions took a three-point lead early on in the game but the Jets hit back to lead 19-5 and finish the first quarter in front.

A close game ensued, with both teams vying for the lead in the second quarter going in 44-44 at half time.

The Jets pushed the lead out once more in the third period as Gianni Costantiello and James Hamilton had four points each in a 12-3 run that made the score 56-47.

In a tantalising fourth quarter, the Lions’ Yorick Williams scored to end the third quarter 68-62 behind going into the final, decisive, period.

The Lions retook the lead for the first time since the opening exchanges as a Williams three-pointer made it 81-82 with just three minutes left to play, capping an 11-0 burst.

The Jets kept the game close at 84-85, but narrowly lost out when the Lions closed out the last minute with Brown and Spinks holding their nerve from the free-throw line.

Another loss leaves the Jets with a five game losing streak and eight points off the play off places.
