VAUXHALL Motors grafted their way to a third consecutive draw in an entertaining encounter with title-challenging Boston United on Saturday.
The outcome of the Rivacre Park clash could have gone either way, but both sides defended well and were satisfied to take a point apiece.
There were two disallowed goals in the first half – one for each team.
Motors defender Tom Hannigan had the ball in the net but was adjudged to have used his hand in the process, before Boston’s former Nottingham Forest striker Jason Lee was ruled to have fouled goalkeeper Scott Tynan before heading in.
The best chance of the first half fell to the visitors and Jamie Yates, who beat the offside trap but could not find a way past Tynan.
After the break, both sides upped the tempo and had chances to win it, Vauxhall’s leading scorer Obi Anoruo seeing a 20-yard volley well saved and Craig Mahon heading against the Boston crossbar from six yards out, before substitute Spencer Weir-Daley was thwarted by Tynan when clean through in the last minute.
Motors head to Evo-Stik League Premier Division outfit North Ferriby United on Saturday for an FA Cup third qualifying round tie (3pm).
