AIRBUS UK Broughton manager Craig Harrison has demanded an improvement from his players on the eve of tomorrow’s visit of Prestatyn Town to the Airfield (7.30pm), writes Dave Powell.
With the Wingmakers playing their third Welsh Premier League game in six days, boss Harrison rested some of his key men in the matches leading up to Friday night’s trip to struggling Welshpool.
But the move somewhat backfired as the Broughton outfit had to settle for a 0-0 draw at Maesydre despite enjoying the greater possession and creating the better opportunities.
“It wasn’t really good enough and myself and the lads were bitterly disappointed,” said Harrison.
“We were lacking in the final third and we know we should be beating teams like Welshpool if we want to finish in the top 10.”
Harrison’s men did have chances to avenge their shock home loss to Welshpool back in September with Danny Desormeaux going closest. But despite his disappointment, Harrison says there were positives to take from the encounter.
“I like to take out the positives,” said the former Middlesbrough defender. “We kept a clean sheet, our second in three games, and we looked defensively solid.”
Airbus, who remain 10th, are at home again on Tuesday to title-challenging The New Saints (7.30pm).
Wingmakers midfielder Ashley Williams has been named in the Wales Under 23s semi-professional squad for their International Challenge Trophy tie in Portugal on March 3.
