CHRISTLETON are basking in the glory of recording the best result of the West Cheshire League Division One season so far.
The Little Heath side won 1-0 at high-flying defending champions West Kirby on Saturday thanks to Robin Williams’ strike.
Upton AA recorded a decent 1-1 draw at Maghull with Richard Smart on target for the visitors. Jonathan McDonald netted but new boys Helsby went down 3-1 at Marine Reserves while Blacon Youth Club were beaten 2-0 at Halton on Friday night.
It was an afternoon to forget for Blacon Youth Club Reserves on Saturday as they were edged out 3-2 by Mossley Hill Athletic Reserves in Division Three.
Chris Scanlan and Matthew Vickers took the hosts close.
Lee Reid and Warren Kelly struck for St Werburgh’s in their 2-2 draw at Southport Trinity Reserves.
Chester Nomads missed the chance to truly close the gap on the Division Two top two as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Maghull Reserves.

Division Three’s Upton AA Reserves booked their place in the second round of the Chester & District FA Challenge Cup with a 2-0 triumph at Chester Nomads 3rds.
Division Two’s Capenhurst Villa crashed out of the Wirral Senior Cup at the first-round stage after losing 2-1 at home to Division One strugglers Castrol Social.
