Chester & District League: Dan Evans stars in big Vicars Cross Doves Division Two victory

DAN Evans fired five goals as Vicars Cross Doves (Dan Christian, Dale Young, Mark McIntire) turned on the style to win 8-2 at Hoole Rangers Reserves (John Robertson, Mike Roberts) in Division Two on Monday. Hoole (Josh Drummond) had won 3-0 at home to Boughton Athletic on Saturday. Neston Nomads (Andy Booth, John Lloyd, Graham Williams, Rob Jones) had it as easy, winning 4-1 at Frodsham Vets (Dave Roberts).

West Meters (Robbie Griffith 2, Jon Lawrence 2, Nick Grimes, Adam Critchley) romped to a 6-1 home success over Saughall Thursday Reserves on Friday. Lodge Bar (Lee Williams, Mike Locker, Chris Parry, OG) won 4-2 at home to Vicars Cross (Adam Pownall, Daniel Christian).

Division Three fast-starters Peacock 09 triumphed 1-0 at Blacon United on Monday. Tommy Fennell offered Chester Celtic’s reply in their 5-1 home loss to Newton Bears Reserves.

Newton had won 6-0 at Crossway Reserves on Saturday. There were also wins for Peacock (Joe Williamson, Danny Stephenson, Dave McLachlan), 3-1 at Celtic (James Village), and Blacon (Mark Mooney, Josh Waters), 3-1 at Barrow Athletic (Nigel Johnson).
