TARPORLEY Victoria’s storming start to the season continued on Saturday as they booked their place in the last eight of the Cheshire League Division Two Challenge Cup with a 6-0 home romp over New Mills Reserves.
The Flacca boys completely bossed the first ever meeting between the teams and opened the floodgates through hat-trick hero Henry Buckley, who then headed-in Nick Abson’s free kick to double the advantage.
Two became three shortly after the restart when the energetic Jonny Winter intercepted a back pass and stroked home before brilliant Buckley added his third and fourth goals as well as setting up Edd Pattinson to get in on the act.
Vics return to league action at home to Maine Road Reserves on Saturday (3pm).
Malpas’ Challenge Cup hopes were dashed at the first-round stage as they went down 4-0 at home to Warrington Town Reserves on Saturday. Teenager Brett Digby excelled for Malpas, who entertain Morda United in the Commander Ethelston Cup (3pm).
