Eagle Sports 0Tarporley Vics 2
VICS faced promotion rivals Eagle Sports knowing their hosts were on a great run.
To upset their hosts Steve Lloyd’s Vics closed the space early, not allowing Eagle to set a tempo.
Hard work in midfield and defence ensured Callum Reckless in the Vics goal was tested only by swirling high balls into the box.
On 20 minutes, Henry Buckley broke the deadlock. James Cooke played a sublime ball to the back post, where Buckley had created space for a volley which nestled into the bottom corner.
Vics doubled their lead when, on 74 minutes, Buckley rose well to flick the ball on to the on-running John Paul Podvoiskis, who took a great first touch before firing home.
Another opportunity for Vics to dent the hopes of one of their promotion rivals comes on Saturday when they welcome Warrington Town Reserves to The Flacca.
Steve Lloyd is well aware his side have to keep winning to maintain their promotion push but they are in good form against their rivals.
