HIGHFIELD Athletic have stormed into the final of the Chester & District Challenge Cup final with six of the best.
Saltney Vets had no answer for Highfield as they slumped to a 6-1 semi-final setback.
Chris Larson led the way with a hat-trick and further goals came from Ross Broadbent, Adam Langton and Matty Cross. Kevin Langton grabbed the Vets’ consolation.
Blacon YC Reserves will meet them in the final after a much-closer game.
They beat Chester Nomads 2nds thanks to a Niall Peaker goal.
In the Chester & District FA Senior Cup quarter-finals, Chester Nomads took on Newton Bears.
Nomads marched on with 2-1 victory as goals from Paul Kitchen and Eden Fenlon saw them through. Ian Ridler struck for Newton.
Blacon YC could not raise a side for their tie, which means Parkgate have been given a bye.
In the Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy third round, Rangers Breaks were also unable to field a side, with Halfway House Celtic now going through.
