Vics hit heights

Tarporley Vics 5 Denton Town 1

VICS stormed to the top of the Division Two table thanks to an Al Moore hat-trick and their best performance of the season.

Denton took a surprise lead against the run of play on 23 minutes, but Vics responded almost immediately when Taylor left the full back for dead before coolly slotting in the equaliser.

Then Dan Haralambous forced a superb save, leaving Moore to fire in the rebound.

Vics made it 3-1 on 41 minutes when Taylor’s corner was met with a powerful header from Haralambous to send Vics into the interval in the ascendancy.

It was more of the same in the second half – this was a day when Woods and Abson were in total control.

After Haralambous made another probing run, he cut it back into the box leaving Moore to tap in his second.

Soon after, Moore sensed an area of space on the halfway, powered forward and rounded the keeper to complete his treble with a great left-footed finish.
