Sunday best on show
THE curtain came down officially on the Chester Sunday League season on Monday as victorious teams from the 2007/08 campaign picked up their prizes.
Despite a clash with the big Euro 2008 match between Holland and Italy, there was a good turnout from players and club officials for the league’s annual presentation evening at Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club.
League champions Dee Miller (Concorde Trophies Section A), Saltney Ferry (Chester Chronicle Section B) and MBNA (Financial Solutions Section C) were on hand to pick up their trophies, while the runners-up from each division were also honoured. They were Castrol Swan (Section A), Royal Oak (Section B) and Boughton Hall (Section C).
Player of the season awards were also handed out and those voted the best in each division were: Todd Reid (Custom House, Section A), Nathan Mapletoft (Royal Oak, Section B) and Dale Harris (Custom House, Section C).
