TWELVE West Cheshire AC members have been selected to represent their county this weekend at the North West Regional Sportshall Final.
Amy Williams, Kelly Baker, and Olivia Montez-Brown have all been selected to represent Cheshire at Robin Park Sports Centre, Wigan, on Sunday.
Amy, who won a gold medal in the under 15 girls long jump at the Northern Indoor Championships in Sheffield, will participate in the U13 girls squad alongside Chloe Hunt and Charlotte Williamson.
Kelly, who powered her way to a new personal best in the shot put for a gold medal in Sheffield, will line-up in the Cheshire U15 girls squad alongside Olivia Montez-Brown, Alice McMahon, and Jenna Sheehy.
Ryan Jones will be the only West Cheshire U15 boy in action at Wigan, while Jack Simcox, Leon Langmead, Alex Kirk and Daniel Vickers will represent the Cheshire U13 boys team.
Athletes from Halton and Frodsham Harriers will also be on duty for Cheshire in Wigan.
Selection is reward for performances in the NW Sportshall League in which Harriers have reached the March finals at five of the six categories.
Three West Cheshire AC distance runners have topped their age group categories in recently-produced 2009 road running performances by Cheshire club runners.
Kathleen Osborne was the fastest lady in the over-60 age group at the 5k distance and Mary Radford was the fastest over-60 Cheshire club runner for five miles.
Brian Beattie was the quickest Cheshire runner in the over-65 men’s age category for the half-marathon distance.
