Athletics: West Cheshire AC and Halton & Frodsham aces combine to help Cheshire to sportshall glory

RISING stars from Halton & Frodsham Harriers and West Cheshire AC have helped their county to success.

West Cheshire’s Georgia Barlow, Olivia Williams and Sophie Baker, along with Harriers trio Annabel Kitchen, Georgia Aston-Massey and Jenny Pyatt, were part of the Cheshire girls team that stormed to glory at the North West leg of the Aviva Sportshall Fun in Athletics Festival in Manchester.

Georgia Barlow, partnering Kelly Chadwick, won the six-lap parlaauf, recorded 45cm in the vertical jump as well as making appearances in the 4x1 lap relay and speed bounce. Olivia Williams competed in the hurdles relay, the grand prix, balance test and javelin, while Sophie participated in the over and under relay, speed bounce and balance test.

Annabel won the 1+1 lap relay, the 4x1 relay and standing triple jump and was part of the three-girl team who emerged triumphant in the high stepper.

Georgia Aston-Massey was fourth in the grand prix, sixth in the over and under relay, seventh in the speed bounce and 14th in the target throw. Jenny finished fourth in the javelin and 11th in the standing long jump.

The Harriers’ Bradley Phillips, Christopher Larkin and Luke Bratt were joined in the Cheshire boys team that finished fifth by West Cheshire’s Dylan Salvi, Elijah Montez-Brown and Cameron Weaver.
