Athletics: Overleigh St Mary’s win Cheshire Primary Schools Athletics

OVERLEIGH St Mary’s emerged as champions of the Chester Primary Schools Athletics competition.
Despite the thunder and lightning that punctuated the event, it was no washout as 16 schools turned out to take part with no complaints.
St Mary’s dealt with the conditions best, finishing ahead of Christleton Primary and Upton Heath Primary Schools.
Organiser Andrew Hetherington said: “Everyone who took part was superb. I thought there would be some grumbling and pulling out of races due to the weather but there was none of it.
“All the kids loved it and put everything into every event.”
