WEST Cheshire AC's senior squad have strengthened their hopes of promotion.
The club cemented their spot at the top of the Northern Senior Track and Field League Division Two West table after their second round match at Litherland.
Dave McKay headed the West Cheshire charge to pole position with a hat-trick of victories from the hammer (46.53m), javelin (60.58m), and shot put (12.06m).
He was backed up in the men's squad by Carl van Schie, Tom Booth, Michael Lyness, Andrew McKay, Andrew Gore, Andrew Whitton, Robbie Dagnall, John Manning, Stephen Jones, Tom Walley, Aidan Stoakley, Alec Beaney, Andrew Clague, Steve Crowe, Dave Alexander and Alan Littler.
Van Schie won the 110m hurdles (17.0) alongside B winner Booth (18.7), before winning the long jump (6.23m) alongside B winner Whitton (5.91m), and then claimed top spot in the B shot with 9.90m.
Booth had kicked off the proceedings on the track on a winning note with a 400m hurdles victory of 60.3 seconds, and Lyness cleared 1.90m for victory in the high jump.
West Cheshire’s Leah Ferrie, Danielle Erskine, Shona Valentine and Emily Done secured success with a time of 52.0 seconds in the women's 4x100m relay. And Bryony Potter, Emily Done, Shona Valentine and Danielle Erskine posted 4:23.4 for second in the 4x400m relay.
Lauren Hunt spun the discus to a winning mark of 33.63m, while Niamh Reilly (33.16m) and Emily Fisher (32.79m) teamed up for victory in the javelin.
Victoria Anderson cleared 1.60m for victory in the high jump. Danielle Erskine (18.2) and Ruth Pritchard (20.3) won their 100m hurdles races.
