Brilliant bronze for indoor athletes

UPTON Heath claimed bronze in the final of the Cheshire Primary Schools Sportshall Athletics at Northgate Arena.

In what was a close competition, Upton’s boys and girls earned just enough points combined to take the final podium spot. Just 10 points separated them from near neighbours Meadow Primary, from Ellesmere Port, in fourth in the eight-school indoor athletics contest.

The final was the culmination of weeks of action in schools throughout the county.

All schools had a boys and girls team and their scores in the indoor sports events, such as soft javelin, vertical jump and the over and under relay, were combined to make the final tally.
