Hockey: Deeside Ramblers resume survival fight

DEESIDE Ramblers resume their fight for National League survival this weekend.

The Tarporley outfit will look to get their year off to a flying start with a win at home to mid-table Doncaster on Saturday (noon).

The Ramblers finished 2011 in improved form thanks to the goals of Ali Ghazanfar and Ed Peel.

A superb Richard Young hat-trick and further strikes from Carl Lee and Jim Dooer earned Chester 5ths a 5-4 win at home to promotion rivals Winnington Park 3rds on Saturday.

Chester 6ths and 7ths both lost.

Chester’s first-team’s match was frozen off.
