IT WAS an afternoon to remember for the Chester and Deeside Ramblers ladies first teams on Saturday.
Chester ripped up the form book to win 3-2 at high-flying Timperley with goals from Claire Gledhill and Nia Hughes (2).
Ramblers, meanwhile, won 1-0 at home to Leeds University with a Vicky Walton strike and a star contribution from youngster Emily Andrews.
Chester’s struggling men’s first team lost 4-3 at home to top-of-the-table Alderley Edge, with Bart Ryan-Beswick, Pete Evans and Simon Jones offering the replies.
Chester 6ths went down 4-0 at home to Macclesfield 4ths but the 7ths won 2-1 at Deeside Ramblers 7ths thanks to Ryan Thomas and Matt Pickett.
Ramblers 5ths (Matt Allen, Mark Goodyer 2) were 3-2 winners at home to title rivals Runcorn.
Goalkeeper Chris Hales could not save Ramblers 3rds (Tom Millington, Piers Ashworth) from losing 5-2 at home to Brooklands 4ths.
Richard Wyatt and Mark Jones were on target for Ramblers 6ths in their 5-3 defeat at Runcorn 2nds.
Fresh from scoring eight in the 18-0 mauling of Winnington Park Badgers, Dan Verity hit a hat-trick as Ramblers Badgers triumphed 5-1 at home to Neston South Wirral Badgers.
Ben Maudsley and Will-Dood Moore completed the scoring.
Ramblers Beavers (Harry Armitage 2, Freddie Cheshire, Frazer Smellie) won 4-3 at Winnington Park Beavers.
