Probe after body found in suitcase

An investigation is under way after a body was found in a suitcase on farmland, police said.
The body, believed to be that of an adult female, was found on land off Buckland Road in Cliffe, near Rochester, Kent, shortly before 1.30pm on Thursday.
A spokeswoman for Kent Police said the suitcase was found in a dried up pond, known locally as the "old pond".
Inquiries are being made to establish the identity of the body and the cause of death was not known, she said.
A police cordon is in place in the area and Buckland Road remains closed.
A post mortem examination is due to take place.
