Kerry Katona is in a police cell awaiting questioning over claims that she attacked a man.
The troubled reality television star was arrested on suspicion of committing assault, criminal damage and a public order offence, police sources said.
Katona, 28, was arrested in Warrington by Cheshire Police, who cautioned her for possessing cocaine only a few days ago.
The mother of four's arrest comes after being filmed by a Sunday newspaper snorting cocaine and losing a six figure advertising contract as a consequence.
A police spokesman said: "At approximately 3.50pm on Wednesday August 26, Cheshire Police attended a premises on Hawthorne Business Park in Warrington following a report of an assault.
"A 28-year-old woman from the Wilmslow area has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence."
Only on Sunday the former winner of ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! apologised to fans for her behaviour.
She told a newspaper she was "ashamed" of her drug taking.
"I know I let everyone down - my fans, my family and people I work with," she was reported as saying.
In 2002, Katona married Westlife singer Brian McFadden in a fairy-tale wedding and had two children with the Irishman. But the couple split two years later with McFadden now engaged to Australian singing sensation Delta Goodrem.
