A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of teenager Colette Aram 25 years ago.
Colette, 16, was found dead in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire, in October 1983.
In November last year, detectives investigating her murder revealed that they had taken more 100 calls from members of the public after disclosing a significant breakthrough in the inquiry.
Officers now had a DNA profile of the killer who abducted, sexually assaulted and then murdered the young victim, before leaving her body in a field near her home.
The forensic evidence also helped Nottinghamshire Police prove that the murderer went into the Generous Briton pub in nearby Costock shortly after the killing and that Colette was in a red Ford Fiesta stolen on the day she died.
Colette's murder was the first appeal shown on Crimewatch, on Thursday June 7 1984. It was featured again on the programme's 20th anniversary.
