A severed head found in a Leicestershire field was from the same man whose arm and leg were discovered in separate locations in Hertfordshire, police said.
The finding, from post-mortem examinations of the body parts, was disclosed during a press conference at Leicestershire Police headquarters.
The head was found by a farmer on his land in Asfordby on Tuesday afternoon.
The arm was discovered on farmland in Wheathampstead on Sunday, a week after the leg was found in a holdall about 30-minutes drive away in Cottered.
