Sex crimes hypnotherapist sentenced

A 75-year-old hypnotherapist who forced young girls to strip during "spiritual" massage sessions is being sentenced by a Crown Court judge.

Peter Knight, who claimed to be healing his victims, was convicted of a string of sex offences following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court last month.

A jury took just under seven hours to convict Knight of 16 charges of indecent assault and three counts of indecency with a child following the two-week hearing.

The pensioner, of Selsey Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, committed the offences against young women and girls over a 10-year period from the late 1980s to the late 1990s after billing himself as a healer who specialised in positive thinking.
