Virtual gallery: Olly's work takes Chester by storm

Olly Clark - Photographer

AMATEUR photographer Olly Clark from Hoole has been taking Chester by storm with his eye for a good shot, determined work ethic and lively personality.

And if there’s an event on in Chester, you can guarantee the 26-year-old will be there snapping away.

Olly got into photography while travelling the Carribean last year. “When I came back I bought an SLR camera, since then I have progressed and started getting working,” said Olly.

He added: “Since arriving back from Belize last spring I have been chockablock with commissions from all kinds of sources. After my first job photographing a friends wedding, I saw my work being embraced by a diverse range of people, from punters at Chester’s Laugh Inn to aspiring young models wanting me to take their headshots.” Olly also managed to cut his teeth snapping local band The Suns as they blazed their trail across stages all over the Northwest.

A few weeks ago he had his biggest assignment yet when he travelled to Manchester to snap up and coming band Ajah UK at their album launch.
“Live gigs are difficult,” added Olly. “The band members are always moving about so its hard to get any sort of fixed shots, but I managed to get some great pictures”

Olly also recently paid a visit to Telfords Warehouse for a charity masquerade ball, photographs of which appeared in the ocal media.
“It’s great to finally get some recognition for what I do,” said Olly.

“In the future I’m looking to branch out. I’m going to start doing more weddings this year and I hope to move into family photographs. When I’ve got the money together I’d love to get my own studio.”
