THE main course with the most salt per portion at Bella Italia was the pepperoni pizza with 5.63g, while the pollo alla griglia was found to contain 2.93g. High salt starters were bruschetta (1.28g) and garlic grossini (hot bread batons with garlic butter), which had 1.21g per portion.
A lower salt main course was penne pollo a crema with 1.26g salt per portion.
A Bella Italia spokesman said: “Our menus are designed to provide our customers with a great range of choices, allowing them to select a variety of options. We welcome feedback on our menu from our customers as well as nutrition experts.”
