The writing is on the wall

AN AGEING mural is to be updated in a bid to spread the word that Chester still has a thriving arts scene.

The Chester Gateway’s main auditorium has been closed for well over a year but the now-fading mural created to publicise the venue’s final professional production, The Wizard of Oz, can still be seen adorning the outside of the building.

Tip Top Productions – which is now using the former studio theatre in the basement of the Gateway – has invited students from the art department at Queen’s Park High School in Handbridge to create a new mural featuring Chester and theatre images and, in preparation for this, Tip Top members have provided a new base for the mural. Work is due to get under way soon.

Information on Tip Top Productions is available on the website www.tiptopproductions.co.uk or by calling 01244 341296.
