DRIVERS had to take extra care on their approach into Chester this morning, as a set of the city’s traffic lights are not working.
A power failure that affected more than 60 homes around the Handbridge area just before midnight last night (Wednesday) was thought to be caused by a faulty link box which directly impacted the traffic lights on the Old Dee Bridge.
Though power has now been restored in the majority of homes, the traffic lights are still out of action and temporary lights have been installed while Scottish Power engineers work on the problem.
A spokesperson for Scottish Power said it was hoped that normal service should resume as soon as possible and gave apologies for any inconvenience.
