Thirteen new Frodsham homes are lucky for some

THIRTEEN affordable family homes built in Kingsley have all gone to local people.

The two and three bedroom houses, built on the site of a former farmyard off Pike Lane in Kingsley will go to residents who otherwise could not afford rural property prices.

The homes have been developed by Plus Dane Group in association with Kingsley Parish Council, Cheshire West and Chester Council and Partner Construction.

Some 54 applications were received, of which 19 were eligible.

Plus Dane, a housing association, responsible for 12,500 homes in Cheshire and Merseyside, worked with the local authority to determine which 13 applications had the strongest claims.

All the homes, which are being offered for either shared ownership sale or rent, have been let in advance of handover early next month.

Plus Dane development manager Michael Watson said: “The need for affordable, homes in rural areas of Cheshire is growing all the time and unfortunately high house prices in these areas force the young and first time buyers to move further and further away from their families and places of work.”

The development was funded by Plus Dane Group with the help of a £624,000 grant from the Homes and Communities Agency and £149,000 from Cheshire West and Chester Council.
